Each time a door to the outside gets opened, a rush of warm air gets in, and I really do feel it. My husband goes in and out the back door a lot. He doesn’t understand that I really do feel that hot air, so I just leave it go. At bedtime, it seems to take forever for me to cool off and be comfortable enough to sleep. Then, on some nights, as the heat is exiting, my legs just cramp up. I have no control over this, so I just wait it out. Yesterday morning was one of those days, and I just needed to stay inside.
My husband said that the ceremony and reception went well, but I did not miss being in such a crowd. I made a card for the pastor, and we gave him an Amazon gift certificate. There’s going to be another social at a later date, and I’m hoping I’ll be well enough to attend. As long as it’s at a cooler time, I should be all right.
Originally, they called for rain here, starting last night and through tomorrow. However, I heard only a few showers during the night, and now it’s just cloudy. We so desperately need rain, and some good soaking downpours would be great. The grass and flowers are so thirsty. If we go into drought alerts, we’ll have to stop watering, so my husband is trying now to conserve as much as possible. Once this front crosses over us, we’re supposed to get cooler temps, but now, we’re stuck in the H’s – hazy, hot, humid!
If it does cool down tomorrow, I’d like to get out. The dollar store had some junk treasures that I need want. I’ll probably have to sit in the chair (which I hate,) because this is a big store. Our Christmas Tree Shop (which has nothing to do with Christmas) also has some cheapies that I just can’t live without!! I saw those jugs with a tap for less than $7. They’d be great for a cookout or when the little boys are here. (I can truly justify and rationalize any purchase!)
I plan to fully enjoy my peaceful day, today. I’ll read a lot, watch, TV, and just be a lazy old dog!
Peace,
Muff
Hi Muff - sounds like you took a well deserved day off to rest. Good for you. I am kinda down since the fall - sigh. Still some sore spots. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteLove Gail
peace....
Those falls are nothing to be taken lightly. You need to rest and get yourself pain free. I know -- one of my falls took me months to get back to my baseline! Be well.
Deleteisn't it funny how the christmas tree store has nothing to do with christmas.....but it is like christmas when you go in!! i LOVE the dollar store for trays and platters, they have so many different styles and sizes to choose from!!!
ReplyDeleteI usually get a good supply of plates and trays at the $ store. Then when I give away a baked item, I don't have to get the plate back. The Christmas Tree store has a lot of good finds, too!
DeleteWonky weather here. It was 91 on Saturday, 41 on Sunday, and rained for 24 hours. Enjoy your day Muff!
ReplyDeleteWe are very cool right now, and I'm not complaining!
DeleteGlad you're getting a rest. Interesting thing about cramps -- I'm more prone to them in cold. I've never heard of heat causing cramps. Then again, MS is the land of the bizarre.
ReplyDeleteOh, I cramp up in the cold something awful. But when it's hot, I feel sapped, and staying in one position causes me to cramp up, too. Ah, the vagaries of this beast!
