Another week AND another month have vanished way too quickly!!
Seeing the Sites: There are certain websites that I like to visit because they make navigating them so easy. If I see an article listed for ViralNova or Newslinq, I usually check it out. These sites list all pictures, videos, and texts on one page. They upload quickly, and I can read them without moving the page. The ones I hate and no longer visit are those which have the content on different pages. You must click the arrow > to continue to the next segment. Each page takes for-e-ver to load, and by the third piece, I just stop. I wish there were a standard form for these articles so I could read them all.
Outside My Window: The sun is shining, birds are chirping, and everything is in bloom. Unfortunately, I get fooled by appearances. Yesterday, I rushed to get off the computer, and I dashed (well, hobbled) to the back door. I thought I’d sit on the patio. My husband wasn’t home, so going outside may have been an ordeal with the steps and the storm door which I can’t keep open. However, I was willing to try. Unfortunately, when I opened the inside door, a gust of cool wind blew in. I knew that the sun was just deceiving me, making me believe it was warmer. I opted for the doors and windows to be open, and I stayed indoors. Today is similar, so I’ll enjoy the beauty of nature from my window.
Outfit Shopping: I’m still looking for an outfit for this end-of-June wedding we’re attending. My sister was going to lend me the one she wore for my daughter’s wedding, but she may have given it away. I still want to stay with a dressy pant outfit. I’ve designed one in my head, which is a bad thing. I’ll never find it in reality, and whatever I end up getting will pale in comparison. My mental depiction has long, palazzo-like pants in a light beige. The top is layered with a matching shell, then flowing organza-like fabric with handkerchief ends in a beige background with a subtle peach/green floral design. I can definitely “see” it; I just won’t find it! Oh well, my weekend job is to look online for something I like.
Dinner: When my boys came on Wednesday, we had chicken pot pie, one of their favorites. I made a very simple version because I knew my husband didn’t need to be going around collecting my ingredients. I just used a Pillsbury ready-made crust, instead of making a from-scratch one. I poached the chicken breasts until they were tender (about an hour and a half.) Then when it was cool, my husband helped me to take the meat off the bones. I made frozen mixed vegetables in the broth, and I mixed them with the cut-up chicken. Then I used a can of Campbell’s cream of chicken soup and mixed it with a few ladles full of broth. I mixed that with the chicken and vegetables and put the mixture into the bottom pie crust. I covered it with the second crust and baked it for forty-five minutes at 350°. We had a tossed salad with it, and strawberries for dessert. The boys each had seconds, so there was only a little slice left, and I ate it for dinner last night. There was also chicken left, and that will be made into chicken salad for tonight’s dinner.
Books/TV: Can you believe it – I still haven’t finished The Nightingale! It’s really good, but I just haven’t been reading it! Well, it’s definitely season finale time – many of my shows have ended. It’s fine, though, because I waste too much time in front of that boob tube.
Well, that’s it for now. We’re expecting a gorgeous weekend, and I hope you have one, too!
Peace,
Muff

You get a little bit cooler weather because you're closer to the ocean, which is still only 52! Yikes!
Delete"designed one in my head" It sounds beautiful!
ReplyDeleteA lot of things in my head are nice -- they just don't exist in the real world!
DeleteI haven't had chicken pot pie in ages. It sounds so good.
