It’s a cool and rainy today, so I’ll be trying to stay inside except for the mom visit. I need to rest a bit, too, because the weekend was tiring. We did go to the anniversary party on Saturday night. I was glad we showed up because our friends were happy to see us there. Their daughters did a beautiful job, and it really was a nice event. I followed my plan and took the wheelchair to preserve my strength. I took my time and dressed nicely and did the whole make-up routine, but I decided to wear dress shoes and no brace. That wasn’t a really smart move, even though I had hardly any walking to do. My bad leg just drags without the brace. I spent some time last week, making them a card, but as luck would have it, my ink cartridge went dry, and the colors were different than I had planned. We just got them a restaurant gift card. We met some nice people, and the food was delicious, but I got tired quickly, and we left early.
Yesterday, I did my normal routine – church and mom visit – but I wanted to get caught up on missed Saturday items. So today is my day of rest. I have to get ready for my mother’s birthday on Friday, but that can wait until tomorrow and the other days. I’m scaling down my original plans because I just won’t have the stamina. We’ll get pretty plates and balloons. An ice-cream cake will be best, and I’ll just get a basket of toiletries as a gift. My thought of making cupcakes for all the residents won’t happen. I’ll make it festive, even though she won’t understand much of it.
I just have a few more computer items to complete, then I’m off to relax with my book.
