Quiet Time

Right now, my house is perfectly still, amazingly quiet, and peacefully inviting! Even though only two of us live here, it can get pretty noisy. The TV is always on – my husband watches all the news outlets plus NCIS reruns. I like to watch some of my shows, but they’re usually at night. My husband is also just noisy – he tends to slam, bang, sneeze, crash all day long. I’m bothered by it – a lot – but my constant pleas get no results other than, “Sorry.” Yesterday, I was alone when he golfed, and today he’s running errands. Soon, the little guys will be here, and I think my bigger guys will be here for dinner. So that means noise, and a lot of it!

For now, I’m going to luxuriate in this quiet place, and I’m going to savor it. I know, one day I’ll be longing for this commotion, and it will be gone. However, once in a while it’s nice to just have peace and quiet.

Peace,
Muff

As I write this, the only sound is of rustling palm fronds, the occasional car, and the ringing in my ears which I just pretend are crickets. I've come to crave the silence, though not the reason for it. Unfortunately, the reason creates more forced than chosen silence. But at least I enjoy where I live, the people I do have in my life, and --- let's not forget -- the friends and experiences the Internet facilitates. So things could be a lot worse!

HI MUFF - enjoy your peace and quiet. SInce we moved andmy Sis is rightnext door w/her son there is often noise and so forth - we are adjusting the rhythm one day at a time. Hearing them is both comforting and at times, well, you get my drift. :-)
Love Gail

I just love those quiet moments.

Sometimes I love it when all I hear is the clock ticking and the refrigerator running. Those times balance so well with the times everybody is home and all moving and talking at once. Enjoy your solitude!!

I need peace and quiet after a lot of commotion. I need a bit of commotion after a lot of peace and quiet!

Judy, I do hope things settle down for you, and you can be at peace.

Gail, I know -- we can be torn between the two extremes.

Olga, Ahhh, I, also!

Muffy, It was enjoyable -- for a short time.

Karen, that says it all!!
