1. What gives? Has blogger changed how things are displayed, or did I push the wrong key? I decided to put up a different background on my blog – no big deal, I do it several times a year. Then I wanted to change the title box colors, and all of a sudden on my screen are all these new pages. Try as I might, I struggled to navigate through the new pages. I used to be able to go to my dashboard, publish comments, write a new post, and scroll down to see everybody’s new posts. Now I can’t even find that page! I’m all over the site just trying to find my usual fare. I’m all in favor of change and progress (except with MS); I’m not an old, stodgy curmudgeon who can’t accept change. But, please, let me know, or help me through the new process! With all my new computer capabilities, I’m enjoying Windows 7 (go ahead, call me weird!) and I like working with new programs. It’s just that this seemed to happen all at once – no warning, just BAM, it’s there. As I said, maybe I pushed the wrong key?
2. This combines two issues… I told you that I hated being treated as an imbecile when I’m using a wheelchair. I also mentioned that I was reading
Second Nature by Jacquelyn Mitchard. I found the neatest quote in the book, and it seemed to address the first dilemma.
If you are a sympathetic, aware, and kindly person who would swear up and down that you don’t judge people by their appearance, you still really do think, deep in the nucleus of your being, that someone with a deformity is dumber than you are (unless he’s Stephen Hawking.) You’ll still do weird things unintentionally, like talking louder to someone who is perfectly competent but has cerebral palsy.
I had to prove all the time that the inside of my head was not as damaged as the outside. I expected it. Expecting is not the same as accepting it, particularly if you got up that morning in a foul mood and the day went downhill from there. (p 22)
That’s what I was trying to convey when I wrote that post, but look how professional it looks when a best-selling author writes it!
3. I’ve been looking for an exercise routine I can do in my present condition. While I love Zumba, I just can’t manage the moves. Well I could if I had someone to spot me (translated as pick me up from the floor constantly!) I also love yoga, but I cannot do those positions without tying myself up into an irrevocably posed pretzel! So, I’m starting my own routine – with the walker at my side, I plan to further strengthen my arms, legs, and core. Once I have it all worked out, I’ll share the results (possibly from a hospital room.)
4. I’m back to my weeding out the old stuff of my former life. Man, the things that I find. I’ll save them for a future post.
Have a great day. Here, we’re bright and sunny, and just a tad chilly. Would that all my winters could content me this much.
Peace,
Muff

No, you likely did not hit a wrong button. Blogger just arbitrarily (arbitrary to us free users, that is) changes their software. Then I spend days tearing out my hair trying to figure it out. Now, perhaps you understand my poem where I expressed concern about making changes and tripping up against Blogger. Try going to this address and see if you can find your way around it and get the stuff you need. http://www.blogger.com/home
Good luck.
Judy
i too have struggled trying to find some sort of exercise that i can do without killing myself... the yoga thing sounded great but when i try it... oh my... i used to do tai chi years ago and i have been doing a bit of it - well what i can remember of the forms - and i'm thinking i may give that a go again... swimming... bleh, water is too warm here in texas... i would love to do zumba and may give it a whirl but balance might get the best of me...
just bleh... :)
Blogger is having conniptions. I just had a post publish itself on my other blog as I was editing it.
I wish I could help with the blogger issue, but I am not that proficient. Sometimes I scramble my blog settings and then have to figure out how to undo it all. It can be frustrating. Hope you get yours fixed.
Thanks, Judy. Yes, that's the page I finally found, but it took a while to get there. Guess I'll have to fiddle around a bit with it.
Sherri, the water's too warm??? Show off!! Tae Chi looks good, but I'm not sure I could do those moves.
Karen, I feel your pain, and I'm only doing ONE blog!!
Peace,
Muff
Thanks, Rae, It'll take me a little time, but I'll eventually get it.
Good luck getting your blog straightened out. I wish I could be of some help, but I just don't know. I can't wait for you to post about the mementos of your other life. Don't hurt yourself with the yoga,
